Employers increasingly look for benefits that address employees’ financial lives beyond traditional retirement and insurance programs. This FAQ explains the proposed employee estate-planning benefit offered through Moffat Financial, West Wealth Group, and Trust & Will.

What is the benefit?

The program is intended to provide eligible employees access to an online estate-planning resource. Depending on program terms and individual eligibility, employees may be able to create documents such as a will or trust through Trust & Will’s platform.

What does it cost?

The current program is described as having no direct cost to the employer or eligible employees. That statement must be confirmed against the final written agreement, eligibility rules, and program limits before it is communicated to employees.

Is the employer providing legal advice?

No. The employer should present the program as an employee benefit and should not recommend particular documents or provide legal interpretations. Employees with questions should consult a qualified attorney.

Is Moffat Financial providing legal advice?

No. Moffat Financial does not provide legal or tax advice. Its role, along with the roles of West Wealth Group and Trust & Will, should be described precisely in approved program materials.

Who is eligible?

Eligibility may depend on the participating employer, employment status, residence, program availability, and other terms. Employers should use only the approved eligibility description.

Does an online estate plan replace an attorney?

Not in every situation. Some people may need individualized legal advice, particularly for complex family arrangements, business ownership, special-needs planning, tax considerations, or property in multiple states.

Before launch, review the written agreement, privacy and data-handling terms, employee communications, eligibility rules, state availability, support process, and required legal, tax, benefits, or compliance review.

Disclosure: Program availability, eligibility, included services, and costs are subject to current written program terms. Moffat Financial and West Wealth Group do not provide legal or tax advice. Trust & Will is a separate service provider.
